(Cairo, July, 20, 2013) Pro-Morsi protest has been exposed to an attack from the residents and some thugs in El Mansoura city which led to the death of 4 women and young ladies along with many other injuries.
ECWR condemns this violent attack of the march from the thugs and some of the residents who are against the Muslim Brotherhood. ECWR also condemns the wide political use of the Muslim Brotherhood leadership of women and pushing them to these risky places on purpose, so that many martyrs can fall in order to be used in the international war that they are leading against Egypt.
The use of women on behalf of the Muslim Brotherhood has increased notably since the 30th of June events which responds to the advice that their international allies have given to them about how important it is to change the image of the Brotherhood and Morsi’s supporters especially in Raba’a’s sit-in. Accordingly, the Brotherhood decided to replace the male dominated image, which is similar to the Taliban which worries the West especially the US society and reminds it with its war on terrorism, to a more humanistic image. So suddenly, unveiled women appeared on Raba’a’s stage for the first time. In addition, the families of the Muslim Brotherhood were invited, so that the support movement of the ousted president shall look as a public movement.
The use of women and children have raised to an extent of misleading the local and the international levels through using fake pictures of children in the Republican Guard events. Then, they women and children were used as human shields for protecting the wanted individuals inside the Raba’a’s sit-in. After that women and children were pushed to some places where it was expected that attacks on the Muslim Brotherhood marches shall take place due to the killings that happened on behalf of the Muslim Brotherhood. The Muslim Brotherhood aimed at obtaining a bloody picture instead of the fake one.
Therefore, ECWR condemns the attacks that led to the death of women and the injuries and calls for an immediate investigation on these events with all the parties; from the attackers as well as the Muslim Brotherhood leaders who organized the march.
