Women’s political status watchdog: “quarterly report for monitoring women’s political status”

This report is issued in the framework of “Women in Democratic Transition” program – the program that aims at improving women’s political participation – through monitoring their active participation and through spreading awareness to
correct wrong misconceptions surrounding women’s political participation. The report tackled some cases from the 1st of January to 31st of March 2010. The report monitors women and political parties in Egypt, women’s relation to the religious trends (Muslim Brotherhood), women in elected councils, in addition to their role in decision making and the election process, as well as women in media and the role of civil society. It presented also the challenges to women’s political participation in Egypt.
