Nehad Abul Komsan Participates in the Closing Ceremony of “Not Normal” Campaign at Ain Shams University

(Cairo, December 20th 2017) Ms. Nehad Abul Komsan, ECWR’s chairwoman, participates in a closing ceremony of a campaign titled “Not Normal” for combating sexual harassment in Ain Shams University.

The closing ceremony of the campaign includes a seminar titled “Not Normal … Yes, It’s Not Normal” that will be held on December 24th, 2017. Ms. Nehad Abul-Komsan speaks about Sexual harassment and how to confront it. The seminar will be followed by a play titled “Not Normal” on combating sexual harassment and how to confront it in the form of art.

 The ceremony concludes by honoring a group of female students who participate in the campaign. Also, the ceremony will be attended by number of female public figures who are interested in the women’s issues from inside and outside Ain Shams University.

Coinciding with the global 16-Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence Campaign, the National Council for Women (NCW) has organized its campaign with the aim of raising students’ awareness of the sexual harassment phenomenon.

For 10 days and in the frame of the campaign, a pre and post survey was conducted inside the University campus for measuring the awareness of the students and how to confront it.
