Nehad Abulkomsan, ECWR’s chairwoman, received an invitation to participate in the national dialogue which has been announced recently by Egypt’s president last month.
ECWR welcomes the participation in this national dialogue, which was announced during the Egyptian’s Iftar in the holy month of Ramadan.
Egypt’s President has invited all the political powers, bodies, groups and institutions to conduct a political dialogue on the priorities of national actions during the current stage.
ECWR highly appreciates this initiative which is a chance to discuss development priorities and human rights and to achieve Egypt’s 2030 Development Agenda and the National Human Rights Strategy.
The dialogue also constitutes an opportunity to exchange ideas and visions and to present suggestions and interventions to come up with a national action plan that builds a healthy political climate and supports democracy and human rights.
Nehad Abulkomsan, ECWR’s chairwoman, affirms that ECWR will provide a vision on issues related to political and civil rights, economic and social rights, and activate the articles of the constitution that need to be activated, foremost of which is the establishment of the Anti-Discrimination Commission to support the rights of citizenship among all on an equal footing.
