Narration of women’s leaders stories Under Islam
In a new season for “Hikayat Nehad in Ramadan“, Ms. Nehad Abul-komsan tells stories of women’s leaders and pioneers in the early era of Islam. Women had done different roles on the stereotypes roles of women, including a model of a woman who worked as a judge in the era of the caliphs, another woman was a fighter who had a prominent role in wars and treaties of peace with the Prophet (peace be upon him), a woman who had a literary salon attended by men and women, and another lady had been allocated a place by the Prophet (peace be upon him) for teaching girls and women to read and write.
“Hikayat Nehad in Ramadan” seeks to re-examine the history of women under Islam to be an example to follow and encourage us to change the stereotype of women and thus have the ability to counter the use of religion from some as an excuse to reduce the rights of women.
In five-minute episodes, to be broadcast on Al-Watan TV, starting mid-Ramadan on the first of June 2018.
